Welcome everybody who visit this page. My name is Paweł Garbacz, I was born in 1980 Dec 24. Someone's told me that I'm an artist, and I think that's a truth. Computer scientist and especially programist should be an artist because of the creation of something. So when I finish my studies I would like to tell everybody: I'm an artist (with eduaction ;) - I don't know such artists...)
Anyway I sometimes play piano (but recently very rarely - the only keyboard which I use is the computer keyboard, anyway - never mind). So I can tell: I'm an artist.
My interests are: first of all is computer science (written with upper case), and listening music (especially during working
I started to interest the computer science in the primary school, when I used famous and legendary Commodore 64. I used to writing some programs in Basic language, assembler, and so on. I was at the Polish C=64 Scene, where I issued the C=64 Magazine, one Music Collection (of course I wrote the whole code in assembler).
Now I've PC and since 2 last years Linux is my passion. I think it's some more than an Operating System - it's an idea. Free software available with source code allow you to work as an unrestricted and independent artist. Everyone who tried to Linux probably know that feeling. The compillers are free, documentation is free, examples are free - you can base on the someone's else code (with preservation of the author's rights)
Now I'm writing some programs: the first published in Internet was the first Linux console multimedia player called DreamPlayer, which supports for today 2 sound formats: Wave and TwinVQ. I'm working anyway with other format's implementation.
